Aston Martin
The Aston Martin brand was founded by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in 1913. However, the first production cars were halted due to the outbreak of World War 1 and it wasn't until after the war that the company was re-founded in Abingdon Road, Kensington and a new car produced.
Classic models include the V8 zagato, Vantage, V12 Vanquish and of course the unforgettable DB6 driven by James Bond in Goldfinger.
From 1994 - 2007 Aston Martin Lagonda Limited was owned by Ford but was purchased in 2007 by a joint venture company headed by David Richards. Ford have kept a $77 million stake in the luxury sports car company.
